The city of Belqis is one of the largest and second largest brick and clay buildings (after the Arg of Bam) in Iran, located 3 kilometers southwest of the current city of Esfarayn, which covers an area of ​​over 180 hectares and consists of a complex of works including the remains of the Arg and the ditch around it, the town including: a tower and a rampart, the tomb of Sheikh Azari, the ruins known as the Minaret Tepe (the Grand Mosque), a pottery kiln, a reservoir, a bazaar, a caravanserai, a building known as the Yakhdanha, and a large cemetery near the eastern gate.
